The quality and performance of steel grating largely depend on the manufacturing method used. we use the most advanced processes to ensure that our steel grating products are durable, strong, and perform optimally in various applications. The two main methods of manufacturing steel grating are welded and pressed (swaged) grating.
Welded Steel Grating: This is the most common method of production, where the crossbars and bearing bars are welded together. The welded construction offers enhanced strength and is ideal for applications where high load-bearing capacity is required. Welded steel grating is commonly used in walkways, platforms, and heavy-duty industrial settings.
Swaged Steel Grating: In this method, the crossbars are inserted into pre-formed slots in the bearing bars. The bars are then pressed together under extreme pressure, creating a permanent bond. This process results in a grating that is lighter than welded versions while still offering excellent strength and load distribution. Swaged steel grating is typically used in applications like stair treads and lighter-duty platforms.
Both manufacturing methods have their merits, and the choice of method depends on the specific needs of the project. we work closely with our clients to determine the most suitable type of steel grating for their requirements, ensuring the best performance and durability at a competitive steel grating price.
